Staying physically active is one of the best-supported ways to look after brain health. Familiar, well-practised movements are often retained even as short-term memory changes. By practising everyday routines like rising from a chair and balancing in your own familiar surroundings, we aim to help maintain mobility and independence. For people living with dementia or Alzheimer's, regular gentle activity can also help with memory anxiety and late-afternoon restlessness.
Martine Lowes BSc (Hons) MCSP is a Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the HCPC, with 20 years' experience, and established Clyde Home Physio in 2010. She served in the Royal Navy and worked as a care assistant before physiotherapy, which shaped how she works: patiently, respectfully and always with the person first.
She visits people recovering after hospital stays, living with stroke, Parkinson's, brain injury or other neurological conditions, and older adults who want practical help with mobility and confidence at home. Appointments are unhurried and focused on what matters to you day to day.
Martine assesses your mobility and goals at home and explains a clear plan in plain language.
